GNLF supporters join Morcha’s Binay faction

Our Correspondent
DARJEELING: The Binay Tamang faction of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) has claimed that about 350 houses of Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) supporters from the Pokhribong-Chamong constituency have joined their party today at Soureni.
The GNLF supporters joined the Morcha (Binay camp) under the leadership of Pokhribong Nagri Dhajey GNLF unit president Nawal Bomzon. They were handed over the Morcha flags by the Morcha leaders Binay Tamang and Anit Thapa.
“We have been saying from the year 2017 that we should leave politics of emotions and be practical due to our failures in the past. But now people seem to understand it and more and more are joining us,” said Tamang.
Speaking on leaving the GNLF, Bomzon said, “We joined the GNLF in 2007 when it was facing a lot of problems and people were scared to take its name also. We have been giving a lot of suggestions to our party president but he has not listened to us. Recently we asked him to raise the demand of 6th Schedule when the CAA was passed and the Home minister mentioned that 6th Schedule areas would be excluded but nothing of that sort happened. We now feel nothing will happen from the GNLF for which I joined the Morcha. Bomzon was today inducted in the Morcha central committee as the Pokhribong -Chamong in-charge.
